May 18, 2017, Kuala Lumpur: The Malaysia Budget Hotel Association (MyBHA) held their 16th Annual General Meeting today at the Pusat Pelancongan Malaysia (MATIC), Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur.
“We have over 2,000 members, having a total of 60,000 rooms, and 22 million room-nights available in the Malaysian hospitality market.” said Mr. P.K. Leong, a buoyant President of MyBHA during the AGM. MyBHA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with O2O Commerce Sdn Bhd (O2O), a MSC Status Company specializes in creating a precision marketing platform, to assist their member hotels to drive traffic, from online to offline, offline to online, a first of its kind in the Malaysian market. “We would like to work with O2O so that we could use the power of precision marketing in the digital space to increase the occupancy rate in our member hotels.” said Mr. P.K. Leong.
MyBHA is the umbrella body for all budget hotels (3 stars and below) in Malaysia. Its membership is made up of hotel entities which are represented by proprietors of hotels or appointed representatives. The association’s core objective is to represent the common interest of all the budget hotels in Malaysia and specifically the member of Association.
“With the collaboration our goal is to drive traffic to the 2,000 MyBHA members, to increase the sales of a total of 60,000 rooms nights which can be translated into RM2b dollar business annually to the Malaysia market. O2O will assist member hotels to buck the trend with the use of “O2O Precision Media”, driven by its unique O2O WiFi Marketing, instead of just the traditional high cost medias such as TV and prints. A hybrid model, member hotels will also get to draw in continuous monthly income stream effortlessly.” said Mr. RJ. Liow, Group Managing Director of O2O Commerce Sdn Bhd.
O2O, which was formed in 2016, is a platform to provide precision marketing for SMEs to drive traffic, online to offline, offline to online with the purpose of increasing revenue.
